At PS 295 we are fortunate to have strong arts programming as an integral part of our children’s education. Music education is known to enhance learning in all subject areas, and is a core part of our shared educational vision. In the past, we received a generous grant for our music program, but this year, we had to support our music program with donations.
We are asking all parents to donate to our school. While the DOE budget provides basic costs to run the school, the PTA provides an additional $300 per student or $150,000 each year that is used to support wonderful programs which helps to create a well-rounded education for our children.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 or $100 per child with 100% participation. Whether you give $5, $50 or $500, every amount counts and helps us get to our goal. Donations are 100% tax deductible.
Give Online: make a one-time donation or set up a monthly payment with your credit card at NYC Charities. Make sure to select your donation frequency option (one time or recurring) and designate your donation to the “Annual Appeal” (write in). For corporate matching, provide company affiliation and company contact email.
Donate by Check: Place cash or check payable to PS295 PTA in return envelope. Please include “Annual Appeal” in the memo line or on the envelope, and drop off in the PTA mailbox in the main office.
Employee Match: Find out if your company matches charitable donations.
Your financial donation is 100% tax deductible and may also be eligible for your employer’s charitable matching gift program (this raised a bunch of money for us in the past). For donations received by December 31, 2017, you will receive written acknowledgement of your financial contribution by January 31st. For donations received after December 31st —a receipt will be sent out in the following year for the next tax year.
