Touch-a-Truck is back on May 13th!

The trucks are rolling in Saturday May13th, rain or shine, just in time for Mother’s Day! This huge family street fair is PS 295′s biggest fundraiser and gives NYC kids a chance to get up close and personal with fire trucks, police cars, tow trucks, garbage haulers, cement trucks, cranes, and other cool working vehicles.

But it’s not just trucks–  we have plenty of activities to round out the day: Giocare sand play and toddler rest area; Amerikick martial arts demos; Slope Pediatrics Make-a-Truck art center; Brooklyn Game Lab Battle Lab and board games; Beansprouts face painting; Textile Arts Center “I Touched a Truck” silk screening; Brooklyn Robot Foundry Flyers & Floaters; The Tiny Scientist Slime Zone; and Project Playdate playdates, in addition to bouncy houses, hard-hat giveaways and Touch-a-Truck tees. Visit our website at for tickets and more details.

Drama Sharings This Spring!

There will be Drama Sharings for 1st through 4th grades this spring. You are invited to see some of the work that your child is doing in drama class.

This is similar to what we have done in previous years. These are informal sharings of some of the work the students have been doing in drama class, rather than performances. We thought it would be nice to have you observe an actual drama class in the drama room. The drama room is located on the main floor, off the side of the large cafeteria.

Please come in on the 18th street side, sign in and you’ll be asked to sit at one of the tables until your Sharing begins.

Since space is rather limited, I’ve included the dates for each class so you’ll be able to join us on that particular date. There won’t be enough seats for everyone in the drama room so you’re welcome to sit on the floor or stand “off-stage.”

Each Sharing will be held from 8:30-9:00am.

First Grade Drama Sharings:
Monday, March 27th – 1-111 Drama Sharing 8:30AM
Friday, March 31st – 1-112 Drama Sharing 8:30AM
Tuesday, April 4th – 1-113 Drama Sharing 8:30AM

Second Grade Drama Sharings:
Friday, April 21st, class 2-106
Friday, April 28th, class 2-107

Third Grade Drama Sharings:
Monday, May 8th, class 3-105
Tuesday, May 9th, class 3-103
Thursday, May 11th class 3-104

Fourth Grade Drama Sharings:
Wednesday, April 26th, class 4-206
Thursday, April 27th, class 4-102

If you are unable to attend, you will still have an opportunity to see your child’s work. Some projects can be brought home. And we will take photos and videos, if possible.

Reminder- Please join “ps295drama” Instragram account and see some of the great work that all grades are doing in drama class!

Brooklyn Boogie Brunch Photos

Days like yesterday are what PS 295 is all about! We raised a bunch of money for the school & enjoyed a completely sold-out show – we even had to turn folks away at the door (Sorry!!)

So many highlights: the music was rockin’, the food was delish, the drinks were flowing and the kids had a blast making custom shirts, getting faces painted & dancing their hearts out all day!

Thanks to everyone on both sides of the stage who came to play, boogie, eat, drink, and support our music and art programs. It was truly PS 295 at its best!

Cupcake Friday: February 17th!

Picture it: a sunny winter Friday, right before a week of vacation. It would seem our kids’ smiles could not be broader as they line up for dismissal.  But then, what’s this? They turn and see….the Cupcake Friday tables in the courtyard! Laden with treats and confections of every (easily portioned-out) variety, from the simple to the besprinkled to the all-out Valentines-theme-tastic, there are treats for every palate and more than enough for every kid to have at least one. And they only cost a dollar each?? NOW the Friday joy is complete!

Every Cupcake Friday this happy vignette is brought to life when you, our amazing parents, pitch in to bake your delicious treats and bring them to the main office in the morning or to the cupcake tables in the courtyard at dismissal. Don’t forget to send your kids with money to buy cupcakes! And if you can help sell, please email Thank you!CupcakeFridayFeb17-01 CupcakeFridayFeb17-02
