We’ll also have face painting, art projects and a raffle with prizes including tickets to the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a Nets game, Amateur Night at the Apollo, a signed One Direction poster, classes at the Robot Foundry and Tiny Scientist–even a week at NY Surf Camp!

You can’t have brunch without food and drinks, right? The Boogie Brunch will feature a littlefieldcash bar and great food from Brooklyn favorites including Blue Sky Bakery, the Chocolate Room, La Bagel Delight, Luscious Foods, Nectar and Sidecar.

A great event like this has to cost at least a hundred bucks, right? Far from it. Tickets are  $12 for the first adult and $8 for the first child in your group, and just $5 each for anyone else you bring along. Infants worn by adults are free. Members of the PS 295 community, we’ll have tickets set aside for you to buy in the courtyard beginning next week–others are welcome to get in on the fun at Space is limited!

You probably already guess this, but all proceeds will benefit PS 295 – The Studio School of Arts & Culture.

Here’s more information about the acts that will change the way you think about brunch forever:

CAPTAIN KIRK DOUGLAS and Mark Kelley (The Roots) and Ricc Sheridankirk
From Hip Hop grooves to psychedelic soloing, the guitarist for The Roots has demonstrated his versatility in countless performances with The Roots as well as on Jimmy Fallon’s show. Here, joined by fellow band member, bassist Mark Kelley and drummer Ricc Sheridan, Captain Kirk puts on his family man persona and gets ready to boogie with the kids.

Quirky author and composer Michael Hearst and his band present Songs For Unusual Creatures, a highly-geeky A/V presentation of some of the most bizarre animals that roam the planet. From the Australian bilby to the deep-sea magnapinna squid, to the microscopic tarde, the creatures are brought to life with such oddball instruments as theremin, claviola, daxophone and stylophone. Michael’s Unusual Creatures can also be found on a companion book as well as a CD and a PBS series featuring guests such as the Kronos Quartet and toy pianist Margaret Leng Tan. Fun for the whole family! Featuring: Michael Hearst, Ben Holmes, Allyssa Lamb, Kristin Mueller and Jonti Siman.
