First Day of School
Get ready for our first day of school at PS 295 Brooklyn! Please plan to arrive promptly at the 19th Street Courtyard Entrance between 6th and 7th Avenue. All students and families in 3-K, Pre-K, and Grades K–5 will be invited to visit the classroom (meet teachers, drop-off school supplies, and share a brief and reassuring goodbye) on the first day, September 4.

First Day of Afterschool Program
Right At School, our new after school provider, will host programming for registered students starting on the first day of school.
This program will be available for all students in 3-K, Pre-K, and Grades K–5 and will run every day school is in session, from 2:40—6:00pm, right in the PS 295 classrooms and spaces we use during the school day.

Back to School Celebration
Join all students and families in the school playground for fun and games. All parents, caregivers, guardians, and children are welcome to make new friends, participate in art projects, play games, and enjoy music and snacks. There are restrooms available, including water fountains and a bottle filler.

Curriculum Night
Get to know your student's classroom and academic experience for the 2025-26 school year with their teachers. This is a Zoom meeting. Individual classes will share specific Zoom links and times.
FTA Meeting and Elections
Our first Family Teacher Association (FTA) meeting will be held in-person. Free childcare provided by our afterschool program, Right At School. All parents, guardians, caretakers, teachers, and staff are welcome to attend. Elections for volunteer leadership roles will be held. Spanish translation will be provided. Explore role descriptions. Freedom to Dream Day
Our partners at Mural Justice Project host this annual fall event on the PS 295 campus, celebrating with music, food, games, and performances. This is a private fundraiser for the nonprofit, Mural Justice Project, that supports arts initiatives in NYC Public Schools in District 15.
School Closed: Rosh Hashanah
NYC Public Schools are closed in observance of Rosh Hashanah.
Cupcake Friday

Preschool Meet-Up
Our rising 3-K, Pre-K, and Kindergarten families are warmly invited to join an informal gathering at PS 295 Brooklyn to get to know the teachers, staff, principals, and school programs.
All parents, caregivers, guardians, and children are welcome to make new friends, participate in art projects, play games, and enjoy music and snacks. There are restrooms available, including water fountains and a bottle filler.
Plus we’ll have representatives from our morning care and after-school programs to answer your questions about these wonderful new and cost-effective amenities on our school campus.
